We have a wraparound and holiday club that runs in Havannah First School, Great Park, Newcastle and a wraparound club in St Oswalds Catholic Primary School, Gosforth. Havannah First School is right on the edge of the city with very easy access to the A1 (for parents to get to work) and Havannah Nature Reserve (for children to get to play). We are opening a new wraparound club at St Bede’s School, Washington in January 2025. Further details on our locations are on our Contact Us page.
Our children’s holiday playscheme runs at our Havannah Club on the Great Park every school holiday, except the two week Christmas holiday. We accept children from any school and from Reception Year to age 13.
Yes, all types of childcare vouchers and are registered with the tax-free childcare scheme. If you are not signed up to this you can read more about it on our news page.
The age range is 4 to 13 for our out of school clubs and holiday club, ie from Reception year up to age 13. Children are not formally separated into different age groups as our experience has taught us that there are many benefits to the ages mixing. We encourage a buddy system . In our eperience all ages, young and old benefit from this interaction.
We do provide an older kids area that the older children can choose to go to if they want to concentrate on something without the younger children.

We usually have two additional workshops per week during the summer holidays, when we bring in specialists eg drumming workshop, multisports, dance etc. There is an extra charge of £3 per child for these sessions.
There are rules displayed in the out of school club, written by the children. We revise these at the beginning of a school year when new children are starting. We would strongly encourage you to look at these rules with your children so that you are able to reinforce them. You may also have comments on them, which we would be very glad to hear.
Yes the second and any subsequent sibling receives a 10% discount on contract wraparound places. There is no discount for adhoc sessions or for holiday club sessions.
We are an inclusive club and aim to accept all children. If your child has any additional needs please indicate these on your registration form and speak to Natalie or Rachael about it. This will not mean that you will be refused a place, it will simply mean that we can be prepared to make the setting accessible, enjoyable and safe for them. If your child needs one to one support we will endeavour to provide this so that they can attend. In these circumstances we bring in an extra member of staff to play alongside your child. There would be an additional charge for this.
We welcome visits from new or interested parents and children any time. Please just contact Rachael or Natalie to organise this.
We use the iPal booking system which you will need to register on. Click on the pink Book Now button at the top of this page. In this system you can always access an up to date invoice and easily keep track of your payments online.
For children who already attend our wraparound childcare programme and are on a contract, your places continue on from year to year automatically. Your place will only end if you give us notice. We will let you know when it is time to book into the system for the next year.
For children who wish to start in September we will let you know by the end of the summer term at the latest. As we run at, or near, full capacity on most sessions we can not offer you a place until we know which current children will be leaving. We do start to ask customers to let us know their intentions for the next year as soon as they are able to after the Easter holidays and for some children who are moving school this is easier to predict. We therefore usually are able to start letting some new parents and carers know in late May/early June.
St Oswalds: As you come through the main gates to the school, keep to the left and follow the bark path which will bring you to the door into the school hall, where we have a doorbell.
Havannah: Our door is underneath and to the left of the big Havannah FIrst School sign on the school wall. We have our own doorbell here.
St Bede’s: To be confirmed.
During term time just send them with what they need for school.
During the holidays they will need to bring a packed lunch, we recommend using an ice block as we can not store them in a fridge. If you are including grapes in your child’s packed lunch please could you ensure that they are cut in half lengthways. We are a nut free club and do have children attending with severe nut allergies so please make sure that you do not include any items that contain nuts.
Please ensure you provide your children a hat and coat as appropriate for our wonderful British weather. We would also suggest that children never wear best clothes to attend any sessions – we often do messy activities.
Please make sure your child has applied suncream before they attend holiday club in the summer months. Please also supply a bottle of suncream, labelled with their name.
During the Covid restrictions children were not able to bring hand held computer games in with them. We found this to be a positive change for the children so we are now asking all parents to make sure that their children do not bring these games in to the club.
Yes we do offer sessions on an adhoc basis where they are available additionally if you have a 5pm finish you can also book an extra hour to 6pm on an occasional basis. These can be booked up to three weeks ahead via our booking system.
Please call or text the relevant club mobile number to let us know if your child is not attending. We may not see emails if it is short notice. This is really important, please always do it.
Please send us an email to admin@ppwraparound.co.uk, do not pass messages via the staff. We require four weeks notice of a change but if we can accommodate the change sooner we will wherever possible.
You can pay by childcare voucher, via the tax-free childcare scheme, by direct debit or by bank transfer.
We don’t accept cash or cheques and in order to keep costs down we don’t accept card payments. You can choose equal payments with iPAL and it will calculate your invoice over the entire academic year and divide over the number of months remaining between now and July to give equal monthly installments. No payment is due in August. If your child leaves mid year a calculation is made to make this balance. You can easily keep track of all this via the online iPal booking system.
Term time contract places are regular and paid for regardless of if you actually use them or not.
Term time adhoc sessions and holiday club sessions are subject to our cancellation policy.
You do not have to pay a retainer over the holidays, during the holidays you only pay for sessions that you have booked.
For children booked in until 5pm term time, if you inform us that you are going to be late you will be charged for an extra hour on the adhoc rate. If this happens on a regular basis you will be asked to make a regular booking until 6pm. Not informing us will mean you have to pay a penalty fee of £5 per 15 minutes, or part thereof, per child.
During the school holidays a penalty fee of £5 per 15 minutes or part thereof is charged per child if they are booked in until 1pm and collected late.
We charge a penalty fee of £10 per family, per 15 minutes for children collected after 6pm (5.45pm for St Bedes) during term time and holidays.
Our booking system will automatically add this fee on to your invoice. There is no leeway for a few minutes – we have to have a cut off at some point and experience tells us that if we allow a five minute leeway, people will then start arriving ten minutes late to collect their children and leaving us understaffed. If you feel it is unfair as there were exceptional circumstances then please do contact one of us by email.
You pay for holiday places on booking. If you cancel the place with less than 7 days notice you will still have to pay. You are able to cancel a place within the first 24 hours after you booked it and receive a full refund. You will need to request this to be done manually as it will not happen automatically via our booking system.
The reason for this cancellation policy is that we have to staff the holiday club according to how many children we have in any one session. Our staff are very flexible and often able to come in at short notice, for which we are very grateful as it allows us to provide last minute places for parents. However we do not believe it reasonable to cancel their hours with less than 7 days notice.
We are very keen to involve parents and children in planning as much as possible. We would welcome any comments, suggestions or advice. If there is enough interest we would like to look into the possibility of forming a parents group. If you think this may appeal to you please do speak to us.
Please do keep us informed about your children, particularly of any special events going on for them.
If you would like to speak to the out of school club staff about any concerns that you have and wish to do this in private please let us know beforehand where possible so that we can arrange a suitable room. You may also contact Natalie or Rachael between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday. You may of course also email us.
