October Half Term Holiday Club | Playtime Paradise Newcastle
Monday 26th to Friday 30th October 2026
October half term is nearly here, and we’re looking forward to five days of autumn fun at Playtime Paradise @ Havannah. Each day has a different theme, with opportunities to get creative, explore, play outdoors and spend time with friends.
Here’s a taste of what we have planned.
Autumn Explorers – Monday
Leaves, Nature & Outdoor Adventure
We’ll start the week by exploring the colours and textures of autumn and making the most of our outdoor space
Activities will include:
- An autumn nature hunt
- Creating leaf creatures and miniature hedgehog homes
- Building woodland dens and trying an autumn adventure course
A day of fresh air, creativity and discovery, with plenty of space for children to follow their curiosity.
Apple & Harvest Fun – Tuesday
Autumn Food, Harvest & Games
A day inspired by apples and the harvest, with opportunities to make, investigate and play.
Activities include:
- Apple printing and autumn themed artwork
- A simple apple baking activity
- Apple experiments, harvest hunts and active games
This day brings together making, baking and playful experiments, with a little autumn mess along the way.
Woodland Wild Ones – Wednesday
Animals, Habitats & Exploring
We’ll take inspiration from woodland animals and the places they live.
Activities will include:
- Designing a woodland animal and investigating animal tracks
- Building a pretend animal shelter
- Woodland themed games
- Making bird feeders
A mix of imaginative play, outdoor exploring and hands-on building for children who love animals and adventure.
Autumn Mad Scientists – Thursday
Experiments, Slime & Building Challenges
A day for curious minds and hands-on discovery, with some messy fun along the way.
Activities include:
- Making autumn coloured slime
- Exploring walking water and mini tornadoes
- Taking on building and engineering challenges
This day blends messy fun, surprising discoveries and creative problem solving — perfect for curious minds.
Halloween Party -Friday
Crafts, Games & Party Fun
We’ll finish half term with a Halloween celebration.
Children will enjoy:
- Halloween crafts and colourful pretend potions
- Pumpkin carving and decorating
- Pumpkin themed games and a spooky treasure hunt
- Music, dancing and party games
A cheerful finish to the week, with plenty of room for children to join the party in their own way.
Children are welcome to dress up if they’d like to, but costumes are entirely optional. As with all our themed days, activities are flexible and may change depending on the children’s interests, the weather and what works best on the day.
Plenty of Choice Throughout the Day
The themed activities are there for children who want to join in, but there’s always plenty more to choose from. Children can settle into role play, build with Lego and other construction toys, enjoy board games and puzzles, or spend time at the arts and colouring table. They can move between activities, follow their own ideas and relax with friends.
Outdoor Play Every Day
Our large, well-equipped outdoor play area gives children room to run, explore and play together. We aim to use it every day when the weather allows, so there’s plenty of opportunity for fresh air and active play.
Time for Friends
Half term is also a chance to enjoy time with friends and make new ones. Whether a child wants to join a game or ease into the day with something quieter, our staff will help them feel welcome and find their place.
Joining Us This Half Term
Our holiday club runs at Havannah First School, Great Park, and children from other schools are welcome. We offer full-day and half-day places for children from Reception to age 13.
Please send your child with a packed lunch and clothes suitable for outdoor and messy play. The themes and activities above are our plans for the week; individual activities may change to suit the children, the weather and the day.
